Non-Transferable | A holiday rom-com on a budget from resourceful director-star Brendan Bradley
Ashley Clements, and Brendan Bradley play bickering mismatched strangers sharing a dream holiday in corny but sweet rom-com Non-Transferable.
Meet another of those bickering mismatched couples beloved of the romantic comedy genre. Amy (Ashley Clements, star of YouTube series The Lizzie Bennett Diaries) is a Type A micro-manager. Joshua (Brendan Bradley) is a laidback go-with-the-flow kind of guy. And he just happens to share a name with Amy’s ex-boyfriend, which is on the unchangeable tickets for the dream overseas holiday she has coming up.
Low-budget/high-concept rom-com Non-Transferable is corny but sweet, although writer-director Bradley probably most deserves applause for his gumption in getting the project off the ground, even if it is rather obvious that his film was partly funded by the Turkish tourism board.
Certificate 15. Runtime 80 mins. Director Brendan Bradley
Non-Transferable debuts on Sky Cinema Premiere on 4 December. Available on DVD from Precision Pictures.

A film critic for over 25 years, Jason admits the job can occasionally be glamorous – sitting on a film festival jury in Portugal; hanging out with Baz Luhrmann at the Chateau Marmont; chatting with Sigourney Weaver about The Archers – but he mostly spends his time in darkened rooms watching films. He’s also written theatre and opera reviews, two guide books on Rome, and competed in a race for Yachting World, whose great wheeze it was to send a seasick film critic to write about his time on the ocean waves. But Jason is happiest on dry land with a classic screwball comedy or Hitchcock thriller.
