Alesha Dixon is stepping back into a prime-time dance series as the host of a new ITV programme that challenges celebrities to recreate famous routines.

The former singer with girl group Mis-Teeq was a judge on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing from 2009 to 2011 after winning the show in 2007, but is now joining ITV’s new entertainment series Dance Dance Dance, due to launch in the new year.

It will see a celebrity line-up including former Coronation Street star Lucy-Jo Hudson, The Only Way Is Essex’s Jessica Wright, ex-JLS singer JB Gill, Jonny Labey, who recently left his role in EastEnders, and Emmerdale actress Fiona Wade take on some of the best-known dance routines from music videos and films.

Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha, 38, said: “The art of dance has always played a big part in my life so this show is the perfect fit for me.

“The standard of dance is very high and I can’t wait for the public to see these iconic performances brought back to life.”

Dance re-enactments which the celebrities, along with a partner they have chosen, will take on include Jackson’s Bad, Madonna’s Vogue, Beyonce’s Crazy In Love and Britney Spears’ Baby One More Time.

The series will consist of six 90-minute programmes and the air date is yet to be announced.
