Mary Berry clutched her Bafta TV Award with excitement after the Great British Bake Off won the best feature award – and revealed what people say to her when they approach her in the street.
She said: “If I’m shopping, people stop me. And they so often just sort of touch me on the shoulder and say, ‘I love the Bake Off and I make your lemon drizzle cake’.”
Doctor Foster star and best actress award winner Suranne Jones praised her “lot” in life, explaining: “If someone had told me three years ago I would have had a husband, a baby and a Bafta in 2016, I would not have believed them.”
Mark Rylance used his win for Wolf Hall to speak out about Government plans for the BBC, warning they would 'come a cropper' if they tried to take 'editorial control'.
