Carol: Lynam 'not right for Countdown'

Countdown's Carol Vorderman has told how Des Lynam quit as host of the quiz because he didn't fit in. Maths genius Carol said of Des, who quit after just 18 months: "He's a sports man and that became clear. He admitted he wasn't quite right for Countdown." And she revealed that she would love to take over as anchor of the quiz one day. Up to now, maths genius Carol has always ruled herself out of sitting in the hot seat of the long-running C4 show, currently occupied by Des O'Connor. But, according to The Sun newspaper, she has now admitted: "That is something I'd like - in the distant future."
