Casualty’s new locum certainly left a lasting impression on viewers…

Casualty viewers were left weak at the knees after new Irish doctor Will Noble made his grand entrance in Saturday night’s episode.

The new locum, played by Vikings star Jack Nolan, had a dramatic start before he even entered the emergency department, clashing with fellow newbie Archie Hudson.

But fans of the medical drama were too distracted by his good looks and Irish charm to care about his squabble with Archie.

One besotted viewer wrote: ‘New hot cast member whose Irish with good hair? Just what the doctor ordered😍.’

Another gushed: ‘New doctor in tonights #Casualty ......oh wow Dr Noble 😍😍😍 the best looking paediatric doctor to grace my tv since ER's Doug Ross and oh that Irish accent.’

While a fifth said: ‘I bloody love Will Noble. Not appreciated a new character like this in a long time. Brilliant first episode- intrigued to see more. Welcome to #Casualty @NackJolan!’

It looks like fans will get their wish for more screen-time with Dr Noble, as he appeared to be eyeing up a full-time role at the hospital as the episode drew to a close.

Meanwhile, it seems Will is in for a heartbreaking start to his time at Holby City Hospital after he meets his first patient, Toby.

After the teenager is brought in with a bleed that won’t clot, he is soon diagnosed with leukaemia.

Will vows to stay by his side for his first chemotherapy session, but is soon chastised by Archie for making promises he can’t keep.

Viewers will have to keep watching to see if Will does actually keep his promise – but after their reaction to his debut, we’re pretty sure they’ll be tuning in next week…
