Colin Salmon turns swashbuckler in The Musketeers

Law & Order: UK star Colin Salmon will guest star in the second series of The Musketeers.

The actor, who has recently been seen in 24: Live Another Day, will play Tariq, a mysterious man who is on the run from Spain, while Misfits'  Antonia Thomas will play his feisty daughter Samara, who finds herself in danger when her father is sent into exile.

“We're excited to welcome an actor of Colin's reputation to The Musketeers. He will bring wonderful charisma and a sense of mystery to the role," say the BBC1 drama's executive producers, Adrian Hodges and Jessica Pope.

"We've also been aware for some time of Antonia's wonderful work in films and TV series such as Sunshine On Leith and Misfits, among numerous others. She brings such intelligence and vibrancy to every role she plays and we are thrilled to have her as Samara.”

Series two of The Musketeers is currently filming in Prague and will also see Marc Warren play the dastardly Comte De Rochefort.
