Eamonn Holmes has been criticised by viewers after he called Prince 'more of a girls’ artist'.
He made the comments on ITV’s This Morning while discussing the Purple Rain singer’s life and death with his wife and co-presenter Ruth Langsford.
Oh very funny @EamonnHolmes ……you won't be laughing when you find out where I'll be sticking that crutch next! x pic.twitter.com/DhyLvT8sEm

Tributes have flooded in from all over the globe following the musician’s shock death aged 57 at his home in Minneapolis.
Holmes said: “I think there was a bit of a problem with Prince.

“He was more of a girls’ artist than a boys’ artist. It was the flamboyancy. We find it hard to relate to him because there’s that flamboyancy that you had with David Bowie as well…”
Viewers and Prince fans are NOT happy, just look at their reactions:
Must be lonely being Eamonn Holmes. He can't relate to people less manly than him, and that's pretty much everyone.

@EamonnHolmes Have you seen the outpouring of adulation from big, scary, non-flamboyant metalheads? Nonsense re Prince. Absolute tosh.

@EamonnHolmes I never had a problem with Prince's flamboyancy. I do have a problem with people living in the past with gender roles.

@EamonnHolmes @itvthismorning your comment about prince is disrespectful its about time you retired

Although some (one or two) people have defended Eamonn:
Don't agree with @EamonnHolmes at all regarding his comments about Prince. However it's his opinion and he's entitled to it. Get a grip.
