Ed Sheeran lands role in TV show

Singer Ed Sheeran has revealed that he’s landed an acting role in a new TV show in US – and it’s not for the faint of heart.

The Brit Award-winning performer has bagged himself a part in one of his friend’s projects, which is and it’s set to come out after this month.

“I have an acting job coming out after July,” he told The Sun.

“I can’t say too much about it because the pilot just got picked up, which is good, but it’s a TV show.”

Ed was reportedly after a role in Game Of Thrones, but instead will make his acting debut in his pal’s TV show which, like the HBO fantasy series, is  “gruesome”.

“It’s a medieval TV show and it’s really, really dark,” says Ed. “It’s gruesome and it’s going to be fine because my friend wrote it.”

As a teenager, Ed was accepted into the National Youth Theatre in London, of which he is now a patron.

Ed also reveals that he made a pact with himself when he auditioned for a part in an ITV drama. He decided that he would give up music if he got the part…

“There was a part I auditioned for on an ITV show and it was music and acting. And I thought this would be fun and I got down to the final six.

“I said to myself if I got this, no more music just acting and if I didn’t, no more acting, just music. But I didn’t get it.

“I quickly realised that I can show you in 30 seconds how talented I am in music, but I can’t show you in 30 seconds how talented I am. Then I just did music and it all went well.”
