Emily Mortimer to write and star in comedy for Sky Living

Sky Living has commissioned Dolls & Em, a semi-autobiographical comedy show penned by Emily Mortimer, star of HBO's hit drama series The Newsroom.

The series - which Emily created with Britsh actress and real-life best friend Dolly Wells (The Mighty Boosh) - is about a British Hollywood star who hires her best friend to be her personal assistant during production of a Hollywood movie.

Emily's husband Alessandro Nivola is producing via the couples' King Bee Productions and he was delighted to hear that HBO have picked up the six-part series in America.

"We're very proud to have found the perfect home for Dolls & Em at HBO," said Nivola in a statement. "They have been incredibly supportive and share our enthusiasm for the series.

"This is our first production under King Bee and we couldn't be more thrilled to begin unrolling the exciting projects we have in the pipeline."
