The 49-year-old actress, who played Jenny Gifford in the hit 90s comedy-drama, told the Daily Mirror the ITV programme will make its comeback in 2016, 13 years after it ended its last run.

“Well yes, I think we’re off and away, I think I can say that!” she said.
Fay revealed she didn’t have any doubts about signing on for the revival, adding: “I didn’t hesitate because it’s been floating around as an idea for so long.
“My only hesitation is that one hopes it’s not going to be rubbish. Ten years have passed, anything could have happened. I’m hoping it’s not written that I’ve got very thin, because that’s not happened!”
Cold Feet, which followed the highs and lows of three 30-somethings’ relationships, also starred John Thomson, James Nesbitt, Helen Baxendale, Hermione Norris and Robert Bathurst.

Fay – whose character Jenny was married to John’s alter-ego Pete – said she is still friendly with her co-star.
“I still have a relationship with John. I reckon we’ll pretty much pick up where we were,” she said. “We’re still friends. The fondness we have for each other is probably key to that character. That’s if they’re still married? Who knows?”
Cold Feet ran for five series between 1997 and 2003, with more than 10 million viewers tuning in for the emotional finale.

The Bafta-winning show, which was created by Mike Bullen, has been broadcast in more than 30 countries, and remade for US, Italian, Czech Republic and Polish audiences.
Nearly 11 million viewers watched the funeral of Helen Baxendale’s character Rachel, who died in a road crash in the final series.
Fay added: “If Helen comes back she won’t be alive. I will miss her horribly.”
