Gogglebox viewers worried again about narrator Caroline Aherne’s health

Gogglebox viewers expressed their concern last night as they noticed narrator Caroline Aherne was missing for the second week in a row.

Comedian Craig Cash was forced to step for his friend and Royle Family co-star as she continues her battle with cancer.

Caroline, 52, was sorely missed and many viewers took to Twitter for the second time in a month to discuss her health as they watched the Channel 4 show, the Sun reported.

“Notice Caroline Aherne is not doing the voice over on #gogglebox hope she's not too ill and recovers from cancer,” wrote one concerned fan.

Another tweeted: “Hope Caroline Aherne is ok & just unwell from her cancer treatment #SpeciaLady #missedtonight.”

While someone else added: “Catching up on #Gogglebox. No Caroline Aherne again this week. I really hope she's OK, it always worries me when Craig Cash fills in.”

Last month viewers were left upset after Caroline narrated with an incredibly hoarse voice.

The shocking sound of her voice came after she took a series off from the show for treatment.

Caroline first revealed that she was battling cancer in 2014, when she spoke at the launch of the Macmillan Cancer Improvement Partnership (pictured above), a scheme to bring together hospitals, GPs, hospices and Manchester city council to co-ordinate cancer care.

She said at the time: “When you hear the doctors say you have cancer, it’s true you really don’t take it in properly. You just don’t think of the questions.”

Caroline and her brother Patrick were both born with retina cancer and she has also suffered from the disease in her bladder.

Her most recent treatment was for a tumour in her lung.

Gogglebox continues on Channel 4, Friday, April 29, 9.00pm
