This year is the year of 40 – a great number. In July it will be 40 years since the first moon landing, in August it will be 40 years since Woodstock, in June it will be 40 years since Judy Garland died and 40 years since the Stonewall riots changed gay history for ever. In May it will be 40 years since I was born and today it’s Jennifer Aniston’s 40th birthday.

There’s no denying that 1969 was a great year.

So, happy birthday Jen. I trust you’ll be doing something suitably lavish to celebrate, but if you can’t find anyone to party with, you could always hook up with Burt Reynolds, it’s his birthday today too.
