'Let's go solve a crime!' BBC3 to screen new Murder in Successville series in 2016

BBC3 has just announced there’s to be a second series of Murder In Successville, the spoof crime series set in a town where celebrities (played by actors of course) are bumped off left, right and centre.

It means the return of Tom Davis as DI Sleet who polices the fictional town of Successville and who is helped in a murder investigation each week by different celebrity sidekicks.

“I’m over the moon to be heading back to Successville and I’d like to thank the BBC for embracing the madness of the show,” said Tom. “We have loads more mad places to go and I can't wait to see who we are taking there. LET’S GO SOLVE A CRIME.”

In the first series of Murder In Successville viewers saw Dermot O’Leary, Louis Smith, Jamie Laing, Deborah Meaden, Kimberly Wyatt and Greg James dropped into Successville to assist DI Sleet. In the new series, Sleet will again be investigating another string of bizarre murders with a new batch of star sidekicks, to be announced soon…

Damian Kavanagh, controller of BBC3, said: “BBC3 will always be home to the best British creative ideas and talent and Murder In Successville is no exception. The guys were amazing in the first series and I’m sure we will have celebs knocking down our door to get under DI Sleet this time. Let’s go solve a crime!”

The series starts shooting in January 2016 and will be shown later that year.

Nicholas Cannon
TV Content Director on TV Times, What's On TV and TV & Satellite Week

I'm a huge fan of television so I really have found the perfect job, as I've been writing about TV shows, films and interviewing major television, film and sports stars for over 25 years. I'm currently TV Content Director on What's On TV, TV Times, TV and Satellite Week magazines plus Whattowatch.com. I previously worked on Woman and Woman's Own in the 1990s. Outside of work I swim every morning, support Charlton Athletic football club and get nostalgic about TV shows Cagney & Lacey, I Claudius, Dallas and Tenko. I'm totally on top of everything good coming up too.
