BBC3 interactive comedy series to feature Dermot O'Leary and Louis Smith

The X Factor host Dermot O’Leary and Strictly-winning Olympic gymnast Louis Smith are among the stars who’ll be solving heinous crimes in Murder in Successville, a new interactive BBC3 comedy mystery series.

Successville is a fictional town brimming with celebrities like Harry Styles, Taylor Swift and Simon Cowell, who in reality are all played by comedy actors including Tom Stourton and Frances Barber.

Unfortunately, the town seems to be the celebrity murder capital of the world. Solving the grisly crimes is Successville's detective, DI Sleet, played by Tom Davis, and each week he’ll enlist the help of a genuine celebrity to be his sidekick to solve the latest high profile murder in the town.

As well as Dermot and Louis, other celebrity sidekicks include Jamie Laing and Greg James, all essentially starring in their very own cop drama in a strange town. They have no idea who they are going to meet, what's going to happen or who's committed the crime. Will they be able to solve a Murder in Successville?

Ed Sleeman,  executive producer for the BBC, said: "Murder in Successville manages to reinvent three genres of TV - part sitcom, part improv show and with a cop show style murder to solve along the way... all this and we haven't even started on Tom Davis's hilarious lead character DI Sleet! This promises to be unlike anything the audience will have seen before."

TV Content Director on TV Times, What's On TV and TV & Satellite Week

I'm a huge fan of television so I really have found the perfect job, as I've been writing about TV shows, films and interviewing major television, film and sports stars for over 25 years. I'm currently TV Content Director on What's On TV, TV Times, TV and Satellite Week magazines plus Whattowatch.com. I previously worked on Woman and Woman's Own in the 1990s. Outside of work I swim every morning, support Charlton Athletic football club and get nostalgic about TV shows Cagney & Lacey, I Claudius, Dallas and Tenko. I'm totally on top of everything good coming up too.
