Andrew Lloyd Webber has reportedly dashed X Factor runner-up Rhydian Roberts' hopes of starring in his new Phantom Of The Opera - saying he has never heard him sing. Rhydian, 24, has apparently claimed he is in talks with the theatre impresario to star in the sequel to Andrew's West End musical - saying it would be his dream to play the masked Phantom. But Lord Lloyd Webber denied these reports, telling The Sun: "I wouldn't have thought so. I've never heard him sing." The 59-year-old can currently be seen in the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks as character Summer Shaw auditions for him to play Maria in The Sound Of Music. It was revealed on Friday that Lord Lloyd Webber chose actress Summer Strallen, who plays her, six months ago for the role in London's West End. She will replace Connie Fisher, who won the role on the BBC's talent search How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? Lord Lloyd Webber will be back on our screens in March with new musical reality show I'd Do Anything, a search to find stars for a West End production of Oliver. The show is looking for three kids to take turns in the lead role as an orphan and another star to play Cockney thief Bill Sykes' girlfriend Nancy. "My only reservation was the casting of the title role as we have to find three kids to alternate. I am really looking forward to finding Nancy, though," he said.
