Nigel Havers sets sail for Benidorm as he bags guest role
Former Coronation Street star Nigel Havers has landed a guest role in ITV comedy Benidorm.
The 64-year-old actor will star in the first episode of the ninth series when it returns later this year.

He will follow up his Corrie role as suave scam artist Lewis Archer by playing a thief who attempts to con cash from the staff at the Solana Hotel.
The Chariots Of Fire star is expected to be a hit with female viewers, and he joins cast members including Sherrie Hewson, Jake Canuso and Tony Maudsley.
An insider told The Sun: “Signing Nigel up is a real coup as he loves comedy and has a class acting background.

“He also appeals to women of a certain age as he was a real heartthrob.”

It comes as Tim Healy, who stars as Lesley Conroy, is being written out of the rest of the series after falling ill during filming in Spain last month.
Nigel has already filmed his guest role.
