What’s on telly tonight? Here the TV Times team of expert reviewers highlight the best shows on Friday 9th February

Cruising with Jane McDonald, 9.00pm, C5

After two festive offerings (a Yuletide edition of Cruising, and the camp as, er, Christmas Jane & Friends), the fabulous Ms McDonald returns for a third series of floating fun. This week she’s heading up the coast of California on the luxurious Ruby Princess, with stops including Beverly Hills and Muscle Beach. Could Jane possibly have the best job ever? Rating: ****

Winter Olympics: Opening Ceremony, 10.30am, BBC1

Winter Olympics

After a couple of heats earlier in the week, the 23rd Winter Games in PyeongChang get under way with the spectacular opening ceremony. Speed skater Elise Christie and skeleton gold hope Lizzy Yarnold are among the athletes carrying the flag for Team GB, while the South and North Korea teams are marching together under one "unified" flag. Eurosport dedicates six channels to live coverage while BBC1, BBC2 and Red Button will show the best of the day’s action (also on demand on iPlayer and BBC Sport online). Rating: ****

Requiem, 9.00pm, BBC1

Requiem

We really feel for poor Matilda (Lydia Wilson) now that everything she thought she knew about her life has been blown apart, but her constant badgering of the locals in Pennllynith for answers about Carys and her own identity is going down like a lead balloon. As she puts her outlandish theory about Dean House to sceptical cop PC Graves, Matilda also tries to find out more from Carys’s strained mum Rose as well as Nick’s formidable great aunt Meredith, before she makes a very rash decision. While the mystery deepens deliciously, prepare yourself for plenty more jump-out-of-your-skin moments as the weird occurrences and creepy noises ramp up a gear! Rating: ****
