One of Gogglebox’s most popular families has been axed from the hit show after one of its members, George Gilbey, joined Celebrity Big Brother.
Unlucky-in-love George, 30, appeared with mum Linda and stepdad Pete on the hugely popular Channel 4 show.
But Gogglebox producer Chantal Boyle said they would not be in the new season as it “wouldn’t work” once George had been on Celebrity Big Brother, reports the Mirror.
She said the family had been told in advance they would forfeit their place, but they could not resist the financial offer for George to join the CBB cast.
It is thought he could earn up to £100,000 on the reality show, claims the Mirror.
Chantal said of the Gilbeys: “It’s all about money. They are pretty cash-strapped and so you can see why they would accept the offer to go on Big Brother.
“But we can’t have them in the new series of Gogglebox.”

She added that several new households would be slowly introduced in the fourth series of Gogglebox, which starts next month.
