The annual Bafta TV awards will take place on Sunday evening, with Simon Cowell and Melvyn Bragg among those receiving special honours this year. The Britain's Got Talent and X Factor mogul will be recognised for his "outstanding contribution" to TV as well as "development of new talent", while veteran presenter Bragg will be awarded the Academy Fellowship for his "exceptional" contribution to television. Cowell will also be hoping to triumph in the Entertainment Programme category, where Britain's Got Talent has been nominated for the first time. The show - whose final was won by gymnastic troupe Spelbound on Saturday night - faces competition from Harry Hill's TV Burp, The Graham Norton Show and Newswipe with Charlie Brooker. Britain's Got Talent is also shortlisted for the YouTube audience award, alongside The X Factor. Sitcom The Inbetweeners and US hit Glee are also among the shows up for the public prize. Meanwhile comedian Harry Hill is hoping to complete a hat-trick of awards for Harry Hill's TV Burp. He has won the Best Entertainment Performance Award for the past two years and is nominated once again. However he faces some stiff competition from Ant and Dec for I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!, Michael McIntyre for Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow and Stephen Fry for QI. In the Continuing Drama category, EastEnders will battle it out against Casualty, The Bill and Coronation Street for top honours, while The Inbetweeners and Peep Show are among those competing for Best Comedy. Other nominees include actress Julie Walters, who receives her 13th and 14th nominations with two nods in the Best Leading Actress category, for the BBC One drama A Short Stay in Switzerland, and for playing late politician Mo Mowlam in Channel 4's Mo. Graham Norton will host the star-studded ceremony which will take place at the London Palladium and will be screened on BBC One from 8pm.
