Strictly Come Dancing might have won the battle with The X Factor - but ITV triumphed in the Saturday night ratings war thanks to I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! and All Star Family Fortunes. The popular BBC pro-celebrity dance contest was watched by 8.9 million viewers - a 40 per cent share of the total TV audience - between 5.50pm and 7.05pm, according to unofficial figures reported in mediaguardian.co.uk. Strictly pulled in 400,000 more viewers than the 8.5 million who tuned into ITV's The X Factor, which was shown later between 6.40pm and 8.10pm. This does mean that the gap between the two shows has narrowed from 600,000 last week, when Strictly Come Dancing attracted 9.3 million viewers against The X Factor's 8.7 million. But it proved to be a strong night for ITV overall with The X Factor results show at 8.55pm attracting 7.6 million viewers, beating BBC1's Casualty with 6.2 million. I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! picked up 7.6 million viewers at 9.30pm, beating BBC1's The Omid Djalili Show, which debuted with 3.4 million. ITV's Parkinson also beat BBC1's Match of the Day, with 3.3 million viewers for the chatshow against 3 million for the highlights of Saturday's 2008 European Championship qualifiers. Overall, ITV1 picked up a 32 per cent share of the peak time audience, against BBC1's 26.4 per cent. Five had a good night too largely boosted by US imports NCIS, CSI, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Criminal Minds.
