1. Wild Bill ITV - starts Wednesday 12th June at 9pm

Hollywood star Rob Lowe (The West Wing) plays high-flying US cop Bill Hixon in this six-part drama. Moving to Lincolnshire as the police force’s new Chief Constable, he finds the locals don’t exactly warm to him…

Marcella star Anna Friel joins forces with Rosalind Eleazar (Howards End) and Sinead Keenan (Little Boy Blue) for this six-part drama, which takes place in the Lake District. Based on the Windermere novels by thriller writer Paula Daly, the series follows the intertwined lives of three very different women who are each facing difficult dilemmas…

3. Poldark BBC1 - start date to be confirmed

Dust off your tricorn hats as we return to Cornwall for the fifth and final series (sob!) of the hit costume saga, with Aidan Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson reprising their roles as our favourite heroes Ross and Demelza Poldark.

Poldark author Winston Graham left a gap of 10 years between the end of the seventh book, The Angry Tide, on which series four was based, and the beginning of the eighth story, The Stranger from the Sea.

So now, following the devastating ending to the last season – which saw Elizabeth Warleggan (Heida Reed) tragically die after giving birth to daughter Ursula – writer Debbie Horsfield will explore what happened to the Poldarks and co in the missing years between the books.

The eight episodes will see the action move to a new century, with Ross resolving to put Westminster behind him. But when an old friend needs his help, he is compelled to challenge the establishment again…

4. Beecham House ITV - start date to be confirmed

Starring Vanity Fair’s Tom Bateman, Downton Abbey’s Lesley Nicol and Hustle’s Marc Warren, it’s hoped this sumptuous six-part period drama, set in late 18th-century Delhi, will fill the void left by the end of Downton.

Filmed on location in India and at London’s Ealing Studios, it follows the lives and loves of the residents of opulent Beecham House as they battle with political and social turmoil and a host of dark secrets.

5. A Confession ITV - start date to be confirmed

This six-part drama by award-winning writer Jeff Pope (Cilla, Hatton Garden) is based on the true story of Detective Superintendent Steve Fulcher (Sherlock’s Martin Freeman), who breached police procedure and protocol to catch a killer, a decision that ultimately cost him his career and reputation. The cast also includes Imelda Staunton and Siobhan Finneran.

6. Killing Eve BBC1 - starts Saturday 8th June at 9.15pm

Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer return as MI5 officer Eve and her nemesis, the assassin Villanelle, for a second series of the global hit thriller.

7. Ackley Bridge C4 - start date to be confirmed

The school gates open again for a third series of this gritty drama. The eight new episodes see Robert James-Collier (Downton Abbey) join the cast as deputy head Martin Evershed, while Charlie Hardwick (Emmerdale) is Sue Carp, the new director of behaviour. Jo Joyner is back as headteacher Mandy Carter, along with Sunetra Sarker (Kaneez), Poppy Lee Friar (Missy) and Amy-Leigh Hickman (Nasreen).

8. Emma Willis: Delivering Babies W - start date to be confirmed

Now a fully qualified maternity care assistant, the presenter is back at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow for a second outing of this hit documentary series.

17. The Capture BBC1 - start date to be confirmed

Strike star Holliday Grainger plays a police officer trying to clear a British soldier’s name in this six-part thriller.

18. Year of the Rabbit C4 - Monday 10th June at 10pm

Keeley Hawes, Sally Phillips and Alun Armstrong star in this comedy series about a hardened cop, DI Rabbit (Matt Berry), cleaning up the Victorian East End.

19. Big Little Lies Sky Atlantic - Monday 10th June at 2am

Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Shailene Woodley are joined by Oscar winner Meryl Streep for the hit American drama’s second series.
