Suranne Jones doubts Scott and Bailey return

Actress Suranne Jones has revealed that she does not think detective drama Scott and Bailey will return for a fourth series.

Speaking to the Mirror the actress said that the future of the show remains unclear - and hinted she may not be keen to reprise her role again.

"Series Four hasn’t been commissioned and I haven’t made my mind up yet whether to do another one," Suranne said.

"The hours are so long and it takes you away from friends and family. When you stop enjoying yourself, it’s time to go."

The series finale sees Suranne's alter ego Rachel Bailey at loggerheads with partner Janet Scott after she discovered her marital infidelities.

But while the scene is set for fireworks, the actress admitted she had great fun filming her confronational scenes with Lesley.

"We absolutely loved it!" Suranne said. Lesley and I get along really well, so at first it was odd shouting at each other.

"But we’ve been looking forward to a big argument scene for a while, so we were quite giddy.

"There was lots of giggling between scenes."

Fans can look forward to the series finale of the show over two nights this coming week on May 22 and 23.
