This year's X Factor finalists, who will take part in the live shows, have been revealed in a special Sunday night edition of the show. Saturday night's programme saw the 24 semi-finalists travel to their mentors' homes for one final audition before the judges had to make their decision as to who they would take forward. The boys aged 14-24 - mentored by Dannii Minogue - will be represented by 22-year-old Welshman Andy Williams, 18-year-old Scot Leon Thomson, and classically trained singer Rhydian Roberts. The 24-year-old looked shocked to have made it to the finals, but greeted the news with enthusiasm. "We can win this show," he told Dannii delightedly. However, it wasn't such good news for teenagers Charlie Finn, Luke Beyer and Dominic Harris, who all failed at the final hurdle. Luke - who had had an emotional journey through the competition - wept as he was told he would be going home, while Dannii was seen sobbing after she had broken the news to the 15-year-old. There were more tears in Los Angeles as Sharon Osbourne revealed which of the 14-24 year-old girl singers had made the final. She will be represented by 19-year-old Kimberley Southwick, from Tamworth, 23-year-old Alisha Bennett and teenager Emily Nakanda. Meanwhile fellow hopefuls Vicki Closs, Kim Howlett and Steph Woods bade tearful farewells to the show. Over in Marbella, Simon Cowell chose brother-sister duo Same Difference, girl band Hope and boy band Futureproof to represent the groups. The two latter bands consist of solo singers who were rejected from boot camp, but who formed groups following a suggestion by Louis Walsh. Girl group W4, R&B trio Ghostt and quirky ensemble group I Sette Cantante were left packing their bags after failing to make it through to the final. Finally, Walsh chose the representatives in the over 25s category - and they are Beverley Trottman, Daniel de Bourg and Niki Evans. Fellow hopefuls Dan Days, Zyta and Icaro were sent home. The final 12 now proceed to the live shows, where one will be eliminated on a weekly basis.
