Silk Road Adventure, 9pm, ITV

Get ready for another trek across the globe with the lovely Ms Lumley! Her four-part journey, taking in the diverse countries along the legendary road once used by silk traders, starts in Venice where she looks at the impact the silk trade has had on the city since 13th-century explorer Marco Polo brought silk there from China. She then travels through Albania before heading to Turkey where she gets an insight into the varied local culture by making cheese and spending time with a sprawling family of goat and sheep herders. Joanna’s utter delight at every new experience and her genuine warmth for everyone she meets is as captivating as ever. Rating: *****

Trust, 9pm, BBC2

Donald Sutherland gives a tour-de-force performance as J Paul Getty in this stylish 10-part series, which centres on the 1973 kidnapping of the billionaire’s 16-year-old grandson John Paul Getty III (Harris Dickinson) in Italy. Be warned, the episode opens with the gruesome, drug-fuelled suicide of one of the oil tycoon’s sons. The tragedy brings the young John Paul to his grandfather’s Surrey mansion, where the miserly magnate plays his mistresses off against each other and belittles his surviving sons. He sees a glimmer of hope in his grandson, but the teen just wants to pay off some shady associates in Rome – and his grandfather won’t give him the money… Rating: ****

DIY SOS: Grenfell, 9pm, BBC1

The concluding part of DIY SOS’s visit to West London sees the team, in conjunction with the locals, create an impressive multi-purpose community centre. After fire broke out in 24-storey Grenfell Tower last year, 72 people died and many were left homeless. Since then the close-knit community has been dispersed even further by a shortage of affordable housing. While the banter, bravado and sheer hard work on the building site of the new community centre is inspiring, the real strength of this DIY SOS special is that it gives a voice to the people living through this painful tragedy. Rating: *****
