What’s on telly tonight? Here the TV Times team of expert reviewers highlight the best shows on Wednesday 25^th April

Britain’s Fat Fight, 9pm (times vary), BBC1

With two thirds of Brits now overweight, foodie Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall (who has chatted to us about the documentary) is on a mission to find out what can be done to stop this deadly trend. From the big brands who say their products are healthy but are packed with sugar, to the shops where tempting chocolates are at the checkout, no sweet stone is left unturned. And if that wasn’t a big enough challenge, Hugh is also trying to get all the good people of Newcastle to lose weight and get fit. Watch out for Geordie local Julie, who tells the presenter a thing or two about engaging the whole town, not just people who have money to spend in the affluent city centre. Rating: ****

Benidorm, 9pm, ITV

Liam gets a shock when he turns up for work at Blow ‘n’ Go to find the door has been bricked up. Has Joyce finally shut them down? And where is Kenneth? He was last seen on a night out, so he’s probably still partying hard somewhere, isn’t he? Joyce also sacks Monty again, but this time she means it. Finally, Loretta and Eddie plan a surprise party for Sheron and Billy’s 25th wedding anniversary – what could possibly go wrong!? Rating: ***

Assassination of Gianni Versace, 9pm, BBC2

After the many twists and turns in the life of Andrew Cunanan, this week’s tense finale details the aftermath of Versace’s death. As the police close in, the killer realises his last murder has made him the US’s most wanted man. Hiding out on a houseboat, he revels in the TV coverage of the massive hunt to track him down. Still as deluded as ever, Cunanan even phones his estranged father in the Philippines begging for help. Of course, there’s only so long he can hold out, and the outcome for Cunanan is fitting considering the evil he unleashed. This series has been hard to watch at times, taking us deep into the twisted mind of a troubled man, but it remains nonetheless enthralling to the very end. Rating: *****
