When Cold Feet returned in 2016 after 13 years away, viewers were hooked all over again on the loves and lives of the five mates from Manchester. As the seventh series begins, it doesn’t disappoint. With its La La Land-esque opening sequence, we soon discover that life is anything but dull for this lot. Adam (James Nesbitt) is loved up with Tina, Karen (Hermione Norris) is trying to get her publishing house going and David (Robert Bathurst) is flogging dodgy insurance! Pete (John Thomson), having come through his depression, is happy with his lot – but does Jenny (Fay Ripley) want more from life? Welcome back, Cold Feet, we’ve missed you. Rating: ****

Part of BBC’s Comedy Playhouse, this sitcom pilot stars Spencer Jones as Leslie Winner – that comedy staple of a big-hearted, loveable buffoon with a long-suffering partner. So far, so familiar – though the presence of Shaun Williamson as Jemma’s colouring-book-loving dad might elevate this into a comedy keeper… Rating: ***

Gogglebox, 9.00pm, C4

It’s the 10th series featuring our favourite couch potatoes, but the sign of a surefire hit format is when it keeps on delighting viewers! This new run coincides with 'lots of great telly’, as narrator Craig Cash often tells us, but it wouldn’t really matter if the Goggleboxers didn’t even switch on their TVs — we’re just as interested in hearing what Dave and Shirley had to drink last night or what Giles and Mary are growing in their garden!
