It’s the moment of truth as the cookery contest concludes with Finals Week. Tonight’s challenge sees the remaining four chefs in Istanbul, where they must use local ingredients to create delicious meals from the region. Tomorrow (8 pm), they are asked for their own takes on a classic dish, before the daunting Chef’s Table – featuring high-profile diners Sat Bains, Tom Kitchin, Jonny Lake and Nieves Barragán Mohacho – whittles them down to three. And in Thursday’s finale (8 pm), each chef must create three amazing dishes – in just three hours. Who will impress judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode with the skills they have learned throughout the series?

White House Plumbers, 9 pm, Sky Atlantic/Now (box set)

Alexis Valdes, Kim Coates, Nelson Ascensio, Toby Huss, Justin Theroux, Yul Vazquez, Tony Plana and Woody Harrelson in White House Plumbers

It’s more than 50 years since the break-in at the Democratic National Committee HQ in Washington, DC, yet Watergate remains the most notorious political scandal in US history. Anyone familiar with E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy, the figures who planned the botched burglaries, know theirs is a story of incompetence, rather than high espionage. This five-part satire sees Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux as the Nixon administration’s hapless ‘plumbers’ – they claim to fix leaks – in a remarkable meeting of real history and black comedy.

Waterloo Road series 12, 8 pm, BBC One/iPlayer (box set)

Kai and Preston in uniform in Waterloo Road series 12

Following their secret kiss last term, students Preston (Noah Valentine) and Kai (Adam Ali) team up to help with preparations for Waterloo Road’s poetry slam and decide to give their classmates something to talk about. However, talking isn’t Preston’s strong suit, and when Kai thinks cash-strapped Preston has been stealing food and makes a grand gesture to help, Preston flips out! Will Preston open up to Kai about his bulimia? This episode is a fine example of how Waterloo Road tackles difficult issues honestly and sensitively.

Best box set on TV tonight

FUBAR, Netflix

Luke Brunner (Arnold Schwarzenegger) walks away from a dumpster fire in FUBAR

FUBAR is an action-comedy series focusing on Arnold Schwarzenegger's Luke Brunner, a veteran CIA operative who ends up postponing his retirement so he can tackle a newly-unearthed secret.

He's forced to go back into the field for one last job, and the series tackles universal family dynamics set against a global backdrop of spies, action, and humor.

Best film on TV tonight

The Favourite, 9 pm, Film4

Olivia Colman in The Favourite

Greek film-maker Yorgos Lanthimos is known for his blackly humorous arthouse movies such as The Lobster, and The Favourite takes all the elements he’s known for and rearranges them to create an off-kilter period drama. Loosely based on real history, this tells of the control Sarah Churchill, the Duchess of Marlborough (Rachel Weisz) had over Queen Anne (Olivia Colman) and her court in the early 1700s. But then Anne switches favour to Sarah’s impoverished cousin Abigail (Emma Stone)… It’s elevated to brilliance by a rapier script and actors who are nothing short of astonishing.
