Lee McQueen admitted that he had to take 'a deep breath' after being picked by Sir Alan Sugar to win The Apprentice. Watch that moment here... In a surprise result, Lee beat finalist Claire Young, a senior retail worker, who had been favourite to land the £100,000 job. The 30-year-old was the only candidate not to have been hauled into the boardroom and attributed his win to the fact that he had 'delivered consistently'. Lee, a recruitment sales manager with eight GCSEs and a BTEC Diploma, was eventually told 'You're Hired' by Sir Alan, despite being caught out in the earlier stages of the BBC1 show for lying on his CV. He said on Thursday: "I'm a winner! I think I won because I delivered consistently. I'm a football fan and if you compare it to a Premier League table I'd be at the top. I delivered every time." Asked what he'd do with his first month's pay, Lee said: "I'll probably buy a new pair of shoes for the Mrs. I'm also trying to negotiate with Sir Alan to see if I can have a holiday in South Africa." The final task saw the remaining candidates, Helene Speight, Alex Wotherspoon, Claire and Lee, creating a male fragrance. Helene and Alex were the first to be fired, leaving Sir Alan to choose between Lee and Claire. Upon making his decision, the business tycoon said: "Claire you have some great attributes and Lee you're very convincing. You are very, very, very convincing. I've concluded ... Lee you're hired."
