Jamie Borthwick Jamie has been brilliant as Jay Mitchell, who’s had a really tough year after unwittingly getting involved with an under-age girl and landing up in court. He’s also been a rock for brother Ben in the wake of the brutal murder of Ben’s lover Paul Coker.

Lucy Pargeter The ever wonderful Lucy Pargeter has enjoyed a big year as Chas Dingle in Emmerdale. After getting back together with Gordon, she found out the shocking news that he had abused their son, Aaron, in one of year's most shocking storylines.

Steve McFadden Just when we thought Phil was about to shortly meet his maker, his son Ben made the shock decision to offer him his liver. It’s been a difficult year for Phil, who was left a broken man by Peggy’s death and was thrown by the return of his estranged brother Grant.

Jack P Shepherd Jack has been wonderful as David, who’s had another shocking year on the Street after covering up the murder of Callum and then losing his wife Kylie, who was stabbed defending an old mate. He’s now returning to his dark side to avenge Kylie’s murder…

Jane Danson Jane is a Corrie favourite and always convincing as Leanne. It’s been a tricky 12 months for Leanne, although she’s finally expecting the baby she’s always wanted. But the dad – shock, horror – is Steve McDonald, leading to all kids of complications as she tries to build a future with the love of her life, Nick.

Danny Miller Danny expertly handled a complex storyling as we slowly discovered how Aaron was abused by his father as a child. It was a heart-wrenching storyline and movingly played by Danny, who’s become one of Emmerdale’s undoubted stars

He also loves James Bond and controversially thinks that Timothy Dalton was an excellent 007.


Other than watching and writing about telly, David loves playing cricket, going to the cinema, trying to improve his tennis and chasing about after his kids!
