Big Brother's Nikki Grahame turned life around in France

Nikki Grahame has admitted that she doesn’t look at herself in full-length mirrors any more after spending a year in France.

The former Big Brother star is due to go back into the reality show house tonight as part of a twist to this series that will see her rejoin the contest.

But Nikki, who has battled anorexia in the past, said that she was in a much better place after spending a year getting away from it all in France.

She told Digital Spy: “I’m so content and happy right now. I don’t weigh myself – I don’t look at my body in full length mirrors. Do you know what, I’ve been living in France and I’ve only had hand held mirrors for the past year in my apartment. It doesn’t bother me, my body, now.”

Asked whether the Big Brother house, with its walls of mirrors, would pose a problem, she said: “A bit, yeah. But I’m sure I’ll go for it.”

Nikki also told The Sun how living in France had helped her: “I never used to eat after 7pm, but now I do – France helped me overcome so many of my fears. I feel stronger than ever.

“I’m so happy now and half of my clothes don’t fit me any more. I haven’t relapsed in about four years. I’m in such a good place I don’t even think about it.”

She added to Digital Spy about her choice to move abroad: “I was just really confused back then. I had a year to take because I’d bought this new place and I’d sold my old flat, and I thought, ‘I’m going to do something completely different. I’m going to go somewhere where nobody recognises me, I’m going to get a job in a cafe and I’m going to study French’, and that’s what I’ve done.

“And I’ve had the gap year I never had. I’ve had such a great time.

“I’m ready to move into my new place after the [Big Brother] house, so I’m looking forward to moving back to London and then I’ll just see what happens. I’m just really excited to be back.”

Nikki, who appeared in Big Brother 7 in 2006 and came second in Ultimate Big Brother in 2010, can be seen re-entering the Big Brother house tonight (June 12) on Channel 5 at 9pm.
