Former Casualty actress Georgina Bouzova has walked free from court after being found guilty of failing to report an accident to the police. As reported on whatsontv.co.uk on Monday, Bouzova, who played nurse Ellen Zitek in the hit BBC drama, crashed into a parked car in Bristol in April last year and then drove off without leaving the required contact details. The 30-year-old, who also recently starred in Strictly Come Dancing, caused £360 worth of damage when her Nissan Micra hit a Citroen Saxo as she swerved to avoid an oncoming car in the Clifton area of the city. She claims she had left her details on a scrap of paper on the damaged car's windscreen but the note was "an illegible scribble" according to witnesses. Bouzova, however, paid the price for her fame when she was recognised by a witness and was later reported to the police. She denied one count of failing to report an accident. But the actress broke down in tears after Bristol Magistrates Court found her guilty of the offence. She was however fined the minimum amount of £50 and given five points on her licence. She was also ordered to pay costs of £700. The charge carries a maximum fine of £5,000 and six months in prison.
