Gary Lucy to star in Casualty 'noir' specials

Gary Lucy is to join the cast of Casualty for one of three stand-alone episodes.

Former EastEnders actor Gary has been signed up to star in one of the specials which have been described as 'Casualty Noir', according to the Radio Times.

His episode will feature a murder mystery and will see him as, according to a source, 'a loveable rogue, born charmer and conman who exists very much on the wrong side of the tracks. It will be really stylish - we're thinking Casualty Noir'.

The three episodes, to screen in November, will be separate from the main show and will not make any reference to ongoing storylines, but are expected to have a slightly darker feel about them than the BBC hospital drama's usual tone.

Casualty began in 1986 and is the longest-running medical drama series in the world.

Gary's TV career has included extended periods in Hollyoaks, The Bill and Footballers' Wives before EastEnders, which he left in February this year.
