It's almost 18 months since Carla Connor fled the cobbles for Devon following the disaster that was her wedding to Nick Tilsley.

Given the traumatic nature of her departure, you'd be forgiven for thinking she'd never want to set foot in Weatherfield again. But now she's back – and not a moment too soon as far as her brother Aidan is concerned.

He desperately needs her to help him save the family business. Elsewhere, Leanne's love life is looking up – or is it? – and Steve may regret knocking back a little too much Christmas spirit!
