Coronation Street is set to welcome Last Of The Summer Wine star Juliette Kaplan to the cobbles.
The actress, who played Pearl in the BBC comedy, will turn up in Weatherfield as Beth Tinker's grandma, Agnes.
Juliette shared the exciting news on her blog, saying she would be on screen in the ITV soap for eight episodes, but would love to stick around for longer if she got the chance.
"I got the part - YAY YAY YAY!!!!!!! I got four episodes which then turned into seven and last week I got another script so I'm doing eight in total - so far..." wrote Juliette. "So, on January 5 I make my debut in Corrie as Agnes, Beth's grandma. All of you keep your fingers crossed that I get written in regularly. No, I'm not telling you the plot - I'd get hung drawn and quartered!"
Agnes is expected to arrive on the Street in time for Beth's (Lisa George) wedding to Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment).
Juliette said of her new co-stars: "What surprised me was how friendly they all are and how welcome I was made to feel. If you watch it never mind the characters they play just know they're a great bunch of really lovely people who work terribly hard all the time."
