Graham Norton has said that the UK could win the Eurovision Song Contest again.
The UK has triumphed in the European singing competition five times in the past, with Katrina And The Waves last hitting the top spot with Love Shine A Light in 1997.

This year, the country will be represented by pop duo Electro Velvet – AKA Alex Larke and Bianca Nicholas.

Graham, who hosts the British coverage of the show, said: “Germany has won it and so yes, I do think we will (win again). The great thing about Eurovision is you can never second-guess it!”
He added: “There is a great sense of national pride on the night. There is always outrage if we don’t get the vote, but Eurovision has such a fun and great spirit to it all.”
The TV host will be joined by Petra Mede to present Eurovision Song Contest’s Greatest Hits on BBC1 tonight, a 60th anniversary concert featuring 15 acts including last year’s winner Conchita Wurst, Finnish rockers Lordi, the UK’s winning 1976 act Brotherhood Of Man and Israel’s 1998 winner, Dana International.

“I can’t imagine life without it (Eurovision). What’s great about this concert is everyone is a winner. It has been a huge part of their lives,” he said.
Eurovision Song Contest’s Greatest Hits will air at 9pm on BBC One on Good Friday.
