There's thrilling action and gripping suspense in Chris Evans' second solo outing as Captain America.

His 1940s super-soldier is thawed out in the present day and finds himself in the middle of a conspiracy. He doesn't know who to trust in Samuel L Jackson's SHIELD organisation but, luckily, Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Falcon (Anthony Mackie) have his back when a mysterious enemy, The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), starts wreaking havoc just as Robert Redford's slick politician tries to set up a global surveillance system.

The later fight scenes are a bit repetitive, but a steady supply of snappy one-liners and witty sight gags keep things lively.
