Ben Mitchell proves that he’s not bad to the bone when he gets an attack of conscience in Thursday’s episode of EastEnders (7.30 pm, see TV Guide for full listings). After seeing Martin Fowler with his stepson Arthur Fowler, Ben feels bad about forcing Martin to work for him.

Ben also has boyfriend Callum Highway’s previous proposition on his mind and he talks to brother Jay Mitchell about it. When Callum later sees Ben exchanging cash with money-lender thug Tubbs, he is furious and has a go at him. Will Ben finally give up his criminal ways?

Tubbs fobs off Ben’s insistence that he lets Karen Taylor off another payment and instead he threatens Karen, demanding she pay the latest instalment of her debt. Before long Billy finds himself railroaded into giving Karen a job in the club!
