Director Andy Serkis brings us a dark and brooding version of Jungle Book.

Swinging on to the screen a mere two years after Disney's 2016 The Jungle Book, this new live-action adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's classic is even more red in tooth and claw than its predecessor - and a world away from the singing and dancing of the 1967 cartoon classic.

Though it may prove too scary for a family audience, it boasts a suitably feral Mowgli in Rohan Chand and fine motion-capture performances from the likes of Christian Bale (panther Bagheera), Benedict Cumberbatch (tiger Shere Khan), Cate Blanchett (python Kaa), Peter Mullan (wolf pack leader Akela) and Serkis himself as Baloo the bear.

This film premieres on Netflix on 7th December.
