The comedy drama sequel to The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel airs on C4, starring Judi Dench, Dev Patel, Maggie Smith and Richard Gere...

The original was an international sleeper hit, so it came as no real surprise when 2011’s Best Exotic Marigold Hotel was joined by this 2015 sequel.

What is surprising is how good it is.

The story remains pretty much the same – British senior citizens having adventures as they make their meagre savings go further by living out in sunny India.

Joining in the fun alongside Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy and the gang this time are Tamsin Greig and pensioner catnip Richard Gere, one of whom is a hotel inspector sent to assess the Marigold.

A bad review and it’s toast.

But which of them could it be?
