Stacey is wrong-footed by Max's surprise reappearance and Bradley's proposal hangs in the air. Bradley tells Stacey that he's given up the Paris promotion for her but if she turns him down he's walking away from their relationship. Stacey makes her decision and tells a delighted Bradley that her answer is 'yes'. Meanwhile, Max finds an excuse to pop out of the house and see Stacey, who is reluctant to face him. Max tells Stacey that he loves her and misses her and he regrets running away to Spain with Tanya and the girls. Max is stunned when a triumphant Stacey announces that he's too late - she's marrying his son. Max returns home to find Bradley, Tanya and the girls celebrating Bradley's engagement and he feigns surprise when they give him the news. Max takes his son to one side for a man-to-man chat and expresses his doubts about Stacey's suitability, but Bradley insists that Stacey is the love of his life and he can't wait to make her his wife.
