All is revealed in the series finale of The Bay
A strength of this absorbing Morecambe-set whodunit has been that the family lives of all involved have been as crucial as the police investigation.
In particular, there’s been the prospect of chickens coming home to roost for family liaison officer Lisa (Morven Christie, pictured above), whose neglected teens have been going off the rails.
There have also been secrets and lies within the bereaved Meredith family, notably the connection between Lisa and stepdad Sean (Jonas Armstrong) that could torpedo her career.
In this satisfying and well-executed finale, we finally discover what happened on the night the twins went missing, how Dylan died and the identity of the mystery man in the distinctive trainers.
A second series, please.

As TV Times Highlights Editor I get to hear about all the latest TV shows coming soon. Here at TVT HQ we are in the privileged position of selecting the best programmes from across all the channels and streaming platforms. Our mission is to make it easier for our readers to decide what to watch - and give them lots of choice of genres - all the latest shows, plus some nostalgic choices we call hidden gems, too. My career began with a postgraduate degree in periodical journalism (ahem, yes old school!) in 1991 and I’ve worked in TV media since 2000.
