When ITV grabbed racing coverage from C4, the jewel in the crown was the rights to screen the Grand National and today they finally get to show the world's most famous steeplechase for the first time.

It's needle-in-a-haystack time as to which one of the 40 runners will triumph and follow in the 'hoofsteps' of greats like Red Rum – good luck with your pick!

Ed Chamberlin will be hosting, with expert tips from former Grand National winning jockeys AP McCoy and Mick Fitzgerald.

What we’ve enjoyed about ITV’s coverage so far is how they’ve simplified the often perplexing sport and their first National is sure to be a treat.
