In a bizarre near-future society where being single is a crime, Colin Farrell has 45 days to find a compatible mate or be turned into an animal of his choosing

In a bizarre near-future society where being single is a crime, Colin Farrell has 45 days to find a compatible mate or be turned into an animal of his choosing.

Farrell's listless divorcee is staying in bossy manager Olivia Colman’s luxury hotel along with fellow guests (including a hangdog John C Reilly and a nervy Ben Whishaw) who are awaiting a similar fate.

But life in the surrounding woods, haunt of renegade loners (including Rachel Weisz and Léa Seydoux), has its own set of perverse but ruthless rules.

Shot in Ireland with a multi-national cast, Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos' first English-language film combines mischievous satire with the perverse logic of dreams to create a compellingly weird, decidedly off-kilter and oddly chilling comedy.
