If you’re tired of the dystopian style of sci-fi, with aliens and zombies always wiping out life as we know it, this space adventure from Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane is certainly something a bit different.

Set 400 years in the future, it follows Captain Ed Mercer (Seth) and his crew on board the USS Orville as they explore the universe while Earth is at peace.

But the ship becomes a domestic battleground in this opening episode when Ed’s cheating ex-wife Kelly (Adrianne Palicki) is assigned as his First Officer…

Described as an homage to original 1960s Star Trek, The Orville boasts impressive sets, fun characters and light-hearted gags.

Beam us up, Seth!
