Series two of Jane Campion's acclaimed drama, Top of the Lake, feels like a whole new show with its Sydney setting

Series two of Jane Campion's acclaimed drama feels like a whole new show, with its Sydney setting, fresh characters and a brand new case for Detective Robin Griffin (Elisabeth Moss) to get her teeth into.

Her new partner, rookie officer Miranda Hilmarson (Gwendoline Christie), is testing her patience, though, and this week Miranda is following her around like a puppy, eager to learn from her new hero.

The women clash professionally and personally, but following a grisly autopsy, Miranda ends up opening up to Robin.

Meanwhile, Robin meets Mary's adoptive parents Julia (Nicole Kidman) and Pyke (Ewen Leslie), but will she finally come face to face with her daughter?
