Holby City star Duncan Pow has admitted that he found filming a special episode of the BBC medical drama in South Africa a humbling experience. Duncan, who plays Linden Cullen in the show, is part of a major upcoming storyline in which Linden and Joseph Byrne (Luke Roberts) head off to South Africa to track down Faye Morton (Patsy Kensit) who is in trouble. Their search leads them into South Africa's Township, and Duncan said this was a real eye-opener. "There's still quite a divide in the country in terms of both opportunity and privilege," he said. "It's something you're just not used to seeing in the UK every day." He went on: "It took me three hours to get my head around the abject poverty but the kids, who had nothing in the world, just smiled all the time. As such, Duncan says that filming in South Africa made him realise just how fortunate he is. He said: "We always moan and gripe about the things that we don't have rather than be thankful for the things we do have."
