Wendy Kweh has said she can understand why her Holby City character Amy Teo seeks comfort in the arms of Dr Harry Tressler next week.
Harry, played by Jules Knight, has had his eye on pharmacist Amy since they first met - despite the fact she's married to his rival, AAU registrar Raf Di Lucca, played by former Heartbeat star Joe McFadden.
But Harry recently discovered their marriage was anything but perfect when Amy confided in him about the strain she and Raf are under as they undergo IVF, and there was a clear spark between them.
And, next week, their connection moves up a gear when, following a row with Raf, a drunken Amy reaches out to Harry - and they kiss!
"Well, she's only human!" laughed Wendy. "When the hormones are running wild and the stress is peaking, there's the need of a sense of connection and understanding."
Wendy believes that charmer Harry's feelings for Amy are genuine.
"Guys like Harry will always arouse some suspicion, but that doesn't mean their connection isn't real. Even cheeky boys have real relationships and sometimes the most awkward set-ups can lead to the most real connections."
