Scarlett Moffatt and Carol Vorderman won nine stars for the camp in I'm a Celebrity, while Scarlett later revealed her theory on time travel to her fellow campers

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! stars have faced some of their worst fears on the show, including a shed full of spiders and a stomach-churning menu of jungle delicacies.

Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt described wolfing down 'two nipples, an anus, a penis and a beetle' in her second Bushtucker Trial of the series so far as 'disgusting', but said that eating a fermented egg was her 'worst nightmare'.

She joined Carol Vorderman as they were served a selection of 10 revolting dishes by camp baker Scary Berry.

After successfully stomaching chocolate nip cookies (camel nipples), French knackeroons (turkey testicles), Bum-offee Pie (cow anus) and Sicktoria sponge (vomit fruit), the pair earned nine stars for their camp – each worth a meal.

“I’ve always watched this programme and thought ‘It can’t taste that bad, surely’,” said Scarlett. “It can taste that bad and a lot worse! It was disgusting.”

But for Emmerdale actor Adam Thomas, the worst part of the show’s third episode, broadcast on Wednesday, was his night in the spider-infested Bushman’s Lodge with comedian Joel Dommett.

The pair were tasked with sending words in Morse code back to camp in a bid to win dinner for the team, but Adam was sent into a frenzy of fear as he spotted spiders on the walls.

He confessed he was 'the most terrified he had ever been' as he and Joel entered the abandoned lodge, and he struggled to keep his cool throughout the challenge.

On his return to camp, he said he was a 'broken man', admitting to camp president Larry Lamb: “I cried, Larry. I was a mess.”

Next it will be Joel’s turn to face his worst fear – of heights – after the public voted for him to take on The Great Ascent challenge in the next episode, screening on Thursday.

Meanwhile, surprises will continue for the camp mates as new additions radio DJ Danny Baker and TV host Martin Roberts join them in the jungle.

Nearing his 60th birthday, Danny said it would be a 'nice' final British show to take part in as he contemplates a move to America next year.

BBC Homes Under The Hammer star Martin, 53, said he was already 'freaking out' over the prospect of joining the show and revealed his biggest fears are claustrophobia and large wasps.

Meanwhile, Scarlett revealed tot he camp that she tried to get in touch with renowned physicist Stephen Hawking after coming up with her own time travel theory.

She explained: “I once emailed him because I had a theory about time travel.

“In order to travel back in time we have to go faster than the speed of light.

“The speed of light is like 319 and then loads of numbers, it’s exactly the same latitude point as the tip of the great Pyramid.

“So I think the pyramids are from the future, I think someone from the future realised we would need them and went back in time and built them.”

Adam Thomas agreed he was 'with that' theory, but Scarlett revealed she struggled getting her revelation across to Professor Hawking because she doubted the Hotmail address she found for him was likely to be real.

She proved she was not his only fan, as Sam Quek recalled how she was star struck when she met Prof Hawking at an awards ceremony.

The British hockey player, 28, said it was the 'first time I ever felt in the presence of a legend'.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues on Thursday at 9pm on ITV
