Law & Order UK’s new edition Ben Bailey Smith has been discussing who his own favourite TV detective is.
Ben, better known as rapper and comedian Doc Brown, joined Law & Order UK this year as DS Joe Hawkins, the new partner of Bradley Walsh’s DS Ronnie Brooks. He took up the badge from Paul Nicholls, who quit the crime drama last year.
He says: “[the detectives] that struck me were the ones from when I was a young boy. Those were the guys I wanted to be.
"The bald black guy from Homicide. He was such a great character, Homicide: Life on the street around about 1991, that was the guy I wanted to be. Just the action hero element of detectives got me. That's why it's such a poetic, dream job for me, Law and Order."
