Simon Ambrose and Kristina Grimes are the last remaining candidates on The Apprentice - after Katie Hopkins turned down a place in next week's final. For the penultimate challenge on the hit BBC1 show, Simon, Kristina and Katie, alongside Lohit Kalburgi and Tre Azam, were put through a gruelling interview process with three of Sir Alan Sugar's toughest business associates. Once Sir Alan had been given feedback on the interviews from his advisors, it was then time to let three of the candidates go. After sacking Lohit then Tre, Sir Alan immediately offered Katie a place in the final after she promised to move her children from Exeter to London should she win the contest. But when pressed on the issue, Katie said she would need to discuss the situation with her parents who help look after her children, and dramatically decided to quit. She told Sir Alan: "I don't want to make a fool of you or me. I think it's more important to get the courtesy to have my plans in place, so I'll have to stand down." First for the chop was Lohit, who one advisor claimed was: "A nice bloke. But run your business? Forget it!" Sir Alan told him: "Lohit, you're a fine fellow. I want to put you out of your misery - you're fired." Despite being the most successful candidate on this year's series, Tre was next in the firing line. Tre, who had been described as aggressive and argumentative by Sir Alan's aides, was told: "I can't see you slotting into my organisation. With regret, you're fired." Simon and Kristina will go head to head in next Wednesday's final to win a £100,000-a-year job with Sir Alan.
